Dog & Cat Boarding


The Barkwood Inn Pet Resort offers Luxury Boarding Suites for all our Overnight Guests. These Suites have no cages, crates, or chain link pens and range in size from 4' x 6' to 8' x 9,' with 9' high solid walls from floor to ceiling.  Each Suite has heated floors on the Club Level, central heat on the Skyview Level, central air, a full view glass door, and separate ventilation for fresh, clean air. All Suites are equipped with a Webcam for the family to watch their Pet enjoying their stay anywhere they have internet access.  All VIP Suites come standard with flat screen TVs for viewing our Pet friendly videos. Each of these Suites were designed to maximize comfort and minimize stress while our Pet Guests are away from their families.


Quality Care for Our Guests

All Overnight Guests receive full access to our Interactive Daycamp Program, which includes access to over 6,500 square feet of fun-filled Indoor and Outdoor Play Areas to socialize with other Resort Guests and Staff at no additional cost. These Suites were each designed to maximize comfort and minimize stress while our Pet Guests are away from their families. Full access to our facilities is subject to a Pet Evaluation to ensure the safety of all our Guests and Staff.

Dog Accommodations

Club Level Suites are located on the first floor of the Resort, and are ideal for Guests that thrive on the hustle and bustle of the Club Level activities. These Suites include a private covered outdoor ocean pebble patio that They can access through a customized dog door.*

Our Sky View Level Suites are located on the second floor of the Resort. These Suites are ideal for Guests that prefer a quieter more relaxing atmosphere.

Group Playtime

All of our Overnight Guests receive full access to our Interactive Daycamp Program, which includes fun-filled indoor and outdoor play with other Resort Guests and Staff, at no extra charge. Overnight Guests must be spayed or neutered if they are older than 6 months, and must pass our Pet Evaluation before participating in Group Playtime.

Nightly Rate Discounts

There are several discounts available for nightly rates. We offer a 25% discount for the second Canine Guest staying in the same Suite, and 50% off for the third and fourth canine Guest in the same Suite. An Extended Stay discount is available for Guests staying for 21 nights or longer, giving you 10% off the nightly rate.

  • Traditional Chicken Dinner (Slow Roasted, With a Side of Rice and Carrots) - $6 Each

Exit Bath

Having fun usually includes getting down and dirty, which is why we require all of our Canine Guests staying three nights or more to receive a discounted Exit Bath in our Grooming Salon prior to check-out. All Exit Baths include a bath, blow dry, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and brush out. Offered as a "Salon Bath" to Outside Guests, the Exit Bath is significantly discounted for all Overnight Guests, starting at just $23. Price is quoted upon check-in and will vary depending on breed, size, coat type and condition.

Cat Accommodations

We are currently unable to accept new Cat Clients. We apologize for any inconvenience.

All of our Feline Guests stay in Luxury Boarding Suites, not cages or condos.* These Suites range in size from 4' x 6' to 6' x 6' and have 9' high solid walls from floor to ceiling. Each Suite has central heat and air conditioning, a full-view glass door, and separate ventilation for fresh, clean air. Each Suite is equipped with soothing music, a private window with a seat, a deluxe kitty climber, and of course a litter box.  The Cat VIP Suite also includes a flat screen TV and a Webcam, for the family of the Pet Guest to keep in touch from anywhere they have internet access. These Suites were designed to maximize comfort and minimize stress while our Pet Guests are away from their families.

Overnight Stay Checklist

Submit proof of up-to-date vaccinations via fax, mail, email, or in person. Canine Guests must have current Bordetella, DHLPP, and Rabies. Feline Guests must have current FVRCP and Rabies. This information must be submitted prior to check-in.  We cannot accept Guests into the Resort without proof of current required vaccinations. It is of utmost importance that your Pet be given the required vaccinations at least 72 hours prior to check-in. Please be advised that many Veterinarians will only give the Bordetella vaccine if requested; therefore, you may need to make an appointment with your Veterinarian to receive this required vaccine. 

What is required:

  • Initial Pet Evaluation for all Canine Guests Completed at our Resort at Least 72 Hours Prior To Check-In
  • Client Agreement & Pet Guest Profile Forms Completed (Only Necessary if Not Already on File)
  • Overnight Guest Check-In Form Completed
  • Your Pet's Meals for His or Her Entire Stay (All Meals Must Be Measured Out & Placed In Individual Serving Size Ziploc Baggies, Labeled With Your Pet's Name)
  • Any Medications To Be Administered By the Resort Staff During Your Pet's Stay Must Be Placed In The Original Container Labeled With the Medication Name, Dosing Instructions, & Pet's Name
  • All Canine Guests Must Arrive On Leash & All Feline Guests In Approved Pet Carriers. Please make sure that if a retractable leash is used that it is in the locked position. 
  • All vaccines are brought in, faxed, or emailed over prior to check-in to assure that they are up to date and all vaccines are accounted for.
